  “Only one thing bothered me. Why would the Raggorak help a descendent of Lahar? Once the Sorcerer King was destroyed would you try to manipulate me? I told the Cormatine that I would destroy you, but I have changed my mind. I will accept your advice, as my father once did, but that is all. I will no longer be pushed from one action to the next. I have only brought you together to warn you that I know of you.

  “I know that you want me to take the throne of Kernback immediately, but first I will be going to the Havens. I cannot let the Qreq suffer their disease any longer. Before I leave I wish to know—will you follow me, or not?”

  The Healer Coron spoke for the Raggorak. Bowing respectfully, he said, “We will do as you ask.” Kenlahar smiled, for he had known the answer. From the moment the stranger had first come to the House of Lahar, the Raggorak had been helpless to change the fate of the world. Somewhere, they were all aware, the God Lahar was still alive and free.
